Frequently
Asked Questions

Good Questions. Brighter Days. More Cocoa!

A little curiosity goes a long way. Choose a question to see the answer—no digging required.

01What is PJs & Cocoa?

PJs & Cocoa is a welcoming, family-friendly corner for people navigating neurodivergence, unseen disabilities, sensory differences, and the everyday experience of feeling misunderstood. You'll find stories, a growing Resource Hub, and creative projects made to encourage understanding—served with a little whimsy and a lot of cocoa.

We're not a medical practice or a crisis service. Think of us as a place to learn, connect with ideas, and find a starting point.

02How do I use this website?

Begin wherever you feel comfortable. Visit About the Founder to meet PJ; choose Resources to browse the glossary, Nevada organizations, and state-by-state listings; or stop by Ask Miss Cocoa for a thoughtful place to send a question.

The Classroom and Events pages introduce projects that are still developing. The PJs & Cocoa logo at the top always takes you Home.

03How did you research the resources?

The directory was assembled by organizing publicly available information about nonprofits, disability-rights organizations, support services, and private legal providers. We aim to make names, websites, and starting points easier to find in one place.

A note of care: inclusion is not an endorsement, and we cannot guarantee that every listing, phone number, service, eligibility rule, or fee is current. Research is a starting point—not a substitute for checking an organization's own website and speaking with its staff. If you spot an error, please tell us.

04Are the resources really free?

Browsing our Resource Hub is free. Outside organizations set their own rules. Some advocacy and nonprofit programs offer no-cost help to eligible individuals; private attorneys and other providers may charge consultation, hourly, or contingency fees.

Always confirm eligibility, fees, and any written agreement directly with the provider. PJs & Cocoa does not charge visitors to browse or click a resource listing.

05Do you have resources for specific states?

Yes. The legal and disability-rights directory includes listings for all 50 states and Washington, D.C. You can choose your state to explore advocacy organizations and other starting points. There's also a special Nevada section with local organizations and community support.

Listings vary by location and shouldn't be taken as an exhaustive list of services available in your area.

06What kinds of resources can I find?

Our Resource Hub currently brings together a plain-language neurodiversity and unseen-disabilities glossary, selected Nevada community organizations, disability protection-and-advocacy contacts, legal-resource listings by state, and links to selected national initiatives.

Not every organization specializes in every condition. Read each listing's focus and contact the organization to confirm whether it can help with your specific concern.

07Who is this site for?

Adults, children and their caregivers, families, friends, educators, coworkers, and anyone who wants to better understand experiences that aren't always visible. You don't need a formal diagnosis—or a particular label—to read, learn, and treat others with curiosity and respect.

People have different needs and experiences. You are welcome to explore at your own pace.

08How can I get in touch?

Use our Contact Us form for general messages, questions about the website, suggestions, or collaboration inquiries. It sends your message through our website's Wix contact system.

We read messages as availability allows, but can't promise an immediate reply. Please don't submit passwords, medical records, financial account numbers, or other highly sensitive details through a general website form.

09How can I work with PJ?

Visit Work with PJ to explore creative services such as copywriting, web content, ghostwriting, personal essays, articles, scripts, creative direction, and family-friendly storytelling.

Share your project through the inquiry form on that page. PJ reviews requests for scope, availability, and fit. These are independent creative services—not financial, medical, or legal consulting.

10Can I suggest a resource or report a broken link?

Absolutely. Use Contact Us and include the organization's name, website, state, and a short note about what it offers—or tell us which link isn't working. Suggestions help us identify what deserves a closer look.

We may review suggestions before adding or changing listings; submitting one doesn't guarantee inclusion. Accurate information matters more than a long list.

11Is this medical, legal, or financial advice?

No. PJs & Cocoa shares general information, creative content, lived-experience perspectives, and external links. None of that replaces individualized guidance from a qualified health professional, attorney, or financial adviser.

For urgent medical or safety concerns, use the appropriate emergency or crisis services rather than waiting for a reply from this website.

12How can I support PJs & Cocoa?

Sharing the site, offering thoughtful feedback, and helping someone find an appropriate resource are meaningful ways to support our mission. If you know a community organization doing good work, send us its details.

Interested in volunteering? Some organizations in our Resource Hub describe volunteer opportunities; contact them directly to ask what's currently available. We'll share our own opportunities on Events when there are confirmed details.

13Can I share or reuse your stories and artwork?

You're welcome to share a link to PJs & Cocoa pages with others. Please don't reproduce the brand logo, character art, photos, or substantial portions of site content on another website, product, or advertisement without asking first.

For permission to collaborate or reuse material, write through Contact Us. Miss Cocoa and Pajamas are creative brand characters; the illustrated logo is a consistent part of the PJs & Cocoa identity.

14Still have a question? What about Ask Miss Cocoa?

Try Ask Miss Cocoa—our warm, advice-column-inspired corner for honest questions and thoughtful conversation. It's a place to ask, reflect, and feel heard; it isn't professional counseling or emergency support.

For website questions, corrections, accessibility concerns, and business inquiries, Contact Us is the best route. And yes, you can enjoy your cocoa while you write.

Every good question is a doorway to understanding.
